VISION
The vision of D. E. U. Computer Engineering Department is to have a leadership position in Turkiye and in International environment as it has in local region. One of its other targets is to supply education in high quality, and also to be known by its creative and technologic researches. Getting and sharing the results steadily in an institutional struct has priority.
MISSION
The mission of Computer Engineering Program, consistent with Engineering Faculty mission statement, is the education of students to fully prepare them to provide leadership in the recognition and solution of society problems in the area of Computer Engineering.
DEU CS STRATEGICAL PLAN
Computer Engineering is a broad and developing field which draws its foundation from a wide variety of other disciplines. Computer Engineering education is solidly grounded in the theories and principles of computing, mathematics, and engineering, and it applies these theoretical principles to design hardware, software, networks and computerized equipment and instruments to solve technical problems in diverse application areas.
Because of the rapid pace of change in the computing field, computer engineers must be life-long learners to maintain their knowledge and skills with their chosen discipline.
Professionalism and ethics are critical elements, since the focus of engineering on design and development makes social context paramount to studies in the field.
Computer engineering students must learn to integrate theory, professional practice, and social constructs in their engineering careers.
As the Computer Engineering discipline grows more and more mature and the body of knowledge compounds daily, the curriculum cannot contain everything but future computer engineers must be equipped with essential knowledge and well tested methods and techniques.
The educational objectives of our undergraduate program are:
First students will obtain a broad education that crosses departmental boundaries while still attaining technical depth in areas impacted by computer engineering. These skills will allow students to solve difficult, novel, multidisciplinary problems; effective balancing of multiple design issues; and lifelong adaptation to new technological developments.
Secondly, students will obtain a solid understanding of professional and ethical responsibility and a recognition of the need for, and ability to engage in, a program of lifelong learning.
